Because of its super thick layer in comparison to the Ceramic ION Top Coat, it protects the surface from oxidation, corrosion, has a high abrasion resistance compared to traditional Nano-Ceramic Coatings, & UV Protection.
Ceramic Pro ION Top Coat
Ceramic Pro ION Top Coat is the second layer of ION Exchange Coating that is applied to the vehicle. ION Base Coat or ION Top Coat by itself will not provide any benefits and have to work together in order to protect the vehicle. Once the ION Top Coat is applied it bonds with the Base Coat layer giving your vehicle the highest level of protection and the thickest level of protection currently available on the market.

Hardness
The Hardness of a Surface Protection Coating is usually measured on the Pencil Hardness Scale from 0H-9H. Traditional Clear Coat and Protectants Range from 2H-4H, this is where previous generations of Ceramic Coating’s get there Hardness from, such as Ceramic Pro 9H. Ceramic Pro ION Coating shatters this scale and ranks much higher than 9H, meaning most objects will not be hard enough to scratch the ION Coating.
Thickness
Thickness is one of the most important factors in a Surface Protection System, the thicker it is the more protective it is. On the other hand if it is too thick it becomes fragile and will not withstand the tests of time. Ceramic Pro ION is perfectly balanced and is 2x thicker than traditional 9H Ceramic Coatings, and it performs as expected.
Abrasion Resistance
This feature is brand new to Ceramic Pro ION Coatings, and was unavailable in previous Ceramic Pro Coating generations such as 9H, although 9H was harder and more abrasion resistant than traditional sealants, waxes, and clear coat it was not able to stop most abrasion. Ceramic Pro ION Coating technology surpasses every other coating in abrasion resistants and will be the new normal in Coating technology.
Hydrophobicity
A Surface Protection Coating’s Hydrophobic properties are characterized by its ability to repel liquids. This is caused by an extreme contact angle letting nothing contact and stick to the surface. Looking at the structure of Ceramic Pro ION and Ceramic Pro 9H you can see the thicker and more durable structure that allows the Coating to be Hydrophobic but also makes them substantially more durable and long-lasting compared to previous generations.
